As my just started Cat Emporium on the SR-site has disappeared along with the website itself, and the Cat Palace on the Vipers forum is rarely visited anymore, I believe it is time to reinstate myself and my lolcritters on the Battlestar forum.

it's going... still missing an important bit of info for my last chapter though, and I cannot for the life of me find a proper article about it with enough data. I asked my tutor though.. hopefully he knows sth. Got some writing material before I get to that point though, so working on that now :)

hmm i don't know how it is with your field but generally there is a database (well hospital results type of thing or like cancer institute) which publishs their data open source. This data is then used by the ppl doing their research and publishing their article. This is so that comparative research using different tools can be made (which then is smart to use the same data:)). If it's exclusively the data you want, is there not something similar? Perhaps the article mentions the database it uses? then you can just use that...

anyways really looking forward to a copy when your done!:)

"the article" doesn't exist :P if I had an article I wouldn't need data. There are databases with data on my subject, but not with specific data on my topic and besides I really don't have the time to sift through a bunch of data... was planning on doing so a while ago but decided that literature research was the way to go.

unfortunately that requires literature ;) but I need processed data not raw unfortunately.

and not yet working on the final chapter either, still on the 2nd one (which I hope to finish today - I have 3 plus an intro and a conclusion chapter).
I wish my tutor would mail back tbh

hmmm thats a bummer. but it's still not battle lost.
check first if your tutor can produce any suggestions.. or maybe one of the papers what you do have has a reference towards one which has your processed data..

even if there is nothing out there or you can't find it in time.. what you could do is mention it as a "suggestion for further work" section and lay out what you think would be cool to do with the unprocessed data, and say due to time you couldn't try it out yourself, etc etc. That way you don't just need to spit out a summary or whatever but can still show in which direction your thoughts are going.. and it also shows alot of background work etc..

anyways good luck!! i'll gladly proofread it if you want.. cause i'm assuming one of the requirements is it has to be readable by a nub in the field ;)

actually it doesn't, you have to assume your reader knows something about it... my sister is my designated proofreader and I don't think I'll have enough time to process two people's thoughts, but thanks for the offer. I have plenty of references to work with the proper data, problem is I can't get to those books and articles (or to the raw data, cause even if I were to put only raw data in it's be too much work to sort out as most raw data is not divided into small enough groups to find exactly the data that I need...)

it's complicated. Well it would've been simple. I have one chapter part with a theory and a bit about comprehension, and the other part would be about production with some data. Lovely, same format as the chapter I'm doing now, wonderful ;)
all I need is *1* article :( but I'm sure it'll all turn out fine in the end

lots of stuff has come up with getting used to fulltime work, going on holiday, trying to fit in RL into my new working life and also trying to play WoW a bit more than the one half hour every week I was at a while ago.
