Hey guys,
I am transferring with Shantee to other server in our battlegroup ( EU Cyclone ) i.e. Silvermoon. The exact date is not yet set, but will probably be this week. It was very hard decision for me to make and the biggest value I will probably loose and for sure miss are really great people from Battlestar guild.
If you ask for reason standing behind that decision, I won’t be able to answer shortly. I believed in this server and I hope I helped a bit to make it better. I made my first steps on Thunderhorn in may 2005, so now it will be 3 years ago. I remember first raids with Pecado guild, when we were killing Onyxia at times Caelum and SoL were killing first bosses in BWL. I remember first pvp focused mostly on raiding Cross roads and avoiding civilian kills. I still have in memory names of first players that became famous for their actions ( some positive, some negative ) like Segma, Navles, Kou, Lumien, Kriss. This server was living that time, and growing. Shortly last boss of BWL dropped to raid progressing guilds.
Then AQ40 gates went open and raiding slowed down, many pve guilds started to have problems hitting Twin Emperors and C’Thun. Triari, SoL , Pecado and others started to fall back. Many ppl wanted to start all once again with coming of Burning Crusade, to raid and progress fast. That way Draconis guild was created, which I had pleasure to join. And it achieved this aim perfectly, being among top 3 raiding guilds on this server and having few first server kills. Regardless of what other people say I still think it had perfect raid organization, most players with amazing skill, very good leadership and extremely fast and effective decision making process. I have learned there really much. Unfortunately this server was unable to support such organization body as “fast progress guild” and when officers realized that, decision was made about disbanding. Decision was perfect too as decision can be that is quick, members received support where can they go, and all bank stuff was distributed smoothly between members. It was also the time when some people understood what they didn’t want to accept -> if they want to raid hardcore, it’s not the server. Noone made any statistics, but I would guess 90% people from Draconis transferred.
I had enough of raiding that time, so I decided, that if this server cannot support raiding, maybe I can do some arena/pvp here. Well, what can I say, just look around by yourself now… finding 1700+ rated person is damn hard here. It was not that bad tho at the beginning of s3, but during that time for example number of rogues ( yes I am not druid and I can play only with rogues ) dropped from like 10 to 2. Or try finding a hunter? holy pala? Good luck. Truth is that this server is way way back in arena/pvp as well. And this is also the main reason I am not seeing any future of it, regardless of what you want to do.
I would like to thank the remaining people here that still have patience and faith to do anything. We have had really nice raids, heroics and premades. it was really pleasure, fun and honor to play with you. I would like to specially thank Brent , who I know like “old furniture” about 2.5 year, and who head hunted me from Avant Garde, I will always remember 3/4 manning all per TBC instances, Mfive who is at same time a great leader and nice person, Criss for great premades and games, Bokeh for spamming guild chat and Argayle for making it hard for me to top healing meter =) and every member of Vipers, Battlestar guild for creating nice place of helpful and friendly people.
P.S. I am not saying bye, because I am not sure about the future of my sister characters, because she doesn’t want to go with me atm…
