As of 2.4 (http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_2.4), Righteous Defense can also be cast on an enemy mob, much like the Warrior's (http://www.wowwiki.com/Warrior) Taunt (http://www.wowwiki.com/Taunt_%28Warrior%29) ability. Its behavior when used in this way seems to be much like its behavior if cast on a party member. If the enemy that is taunted is attacking another player, 2 more enemies that may be attacking that player will also be taunted.

Is this true?? I haven't been online enough to test this yet, but it would make life sooo much easier, no more tab target, assist cast RD and hey presto finally got the mob...

I might also have missed it in the patch notes...

edit: clarified my question, and tested and proven true.

hi mate, yeah this is a great ability for a palla tank, i use this often and have the macro on palm also as to pull mobs the tank looses b4 they get the clothes in some situations

#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [help] Righteous Defense; [target=targettarget, help] Righteous Defense
END

it will automaticly pull the mob back to you (if tanking) by targeting the mobs new target (normally the clothey thats pulled aggro) and casting it on them. As it say it has to be cast on a friendly target to pull the aggro off them not on the mob you want to taunt.
Hope this is of some help to you mate:)

just had a look there is also another one i use that cleanse's yourself and your group by spamming the button. Good for when tanking as it does it without you leaving your target as long as the person you want to cleanse it targeting that mob aswell (as in a group if the situation arises that you need to cleanse whilst tanking then it is generally that they are)

#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [target=mouseover,help,nomodifier:shift] Cleanse; [help,nomodifier:shift] Cleanse; [target=focus,help,nomodifier:shift] Cleanse; [target=targettarget,help,nomodifier:shift] Cleanse; [target=self] Cleanse
