Ok so we all know what they are looking like now, just thought i would put a few thoughts out there and see how it goes
ARCANE
Arcane Focus : 3 points max. Increases your chance to hit by1/2/3% and and reduces mana cost of arcane spells by 1/2/3%
Sooooo it appears hit will be on the agenda again for arcane mages as we lose 7% hit in that talent now.... ouch :(
Mind you we do get reduced cost on arcane spells by 3% but meh would rather have the 7% hit
Magic Absorbtion : Increases all resistances by .2 per level now as a pose to static 2/4/6/8/10 which means at 80 we have 16 to all resistances....woot.....
the % back mana on a spell you full resist remains the same.
Magic Attunement : Same as before but increases range of arcane spells by 3/6 yards, which is nice been after that for sometime i think and it means more peeps running around with imp amp and damp magic, handy for raids.
Prismatic cloak : Still same damage reduction 2/4% but now it reduces the fade time on invisibilty by 1/2 secs. now considering The spell itself is being reduced to 3 secs this means we can possibly get a 1 sec fade and poof! making it an almost insta vanish, still i find improved invis fade time a bit flawed so far down the arcane tree, due to arcanes massive threat reduction anyways its rare i use invis to wipe threat anyway. So yeah overall a small buff to invis but come on we know its well overdue :)
Potent Spirit : Increases your spell critical by an amount equal to 7/15% of your spirit. This is purrty and is bringing back spirirt as a desirable stat again allbeit it has been buffed recently anway. Spirit will be extremely useful as a deep arcane mage.
Student of the mind : Increases sprirt by 4/8/12%, this combined with the above is going to make spirit v.nice.
Incanters Absorbtion : When you absorb damage you spell damage is increased by 5/10/15% of the damage absorbed. Now in the Arcane tree alone this is shite imho, Mana shield is a complete pile of ass. Now this makes it a little better but i still think the amount of mana you lose after a few swift hits is nuts.
Combine this with Ice Barrier (which is possible) and your looking at a sweet pvp cherry there, Not so sure as a raiding spec though, maybe if there is alot of aoe dmg flying about.
Netherwind presence : Gives all your main nukes a 5% chance to make the next one free.
This is pretty and a ressurection of the T2 bonus, Imo its a win and luvley spell.
Arcane Barrage : insta cast nuke with a base dmg of 936-1144 . 1 rank available.
This is nice due to it being an insta cast and would be a good addition to an arcane mages roatation and with the spirit on your new gear as an arcane mage you should be able to cope with the mana consumption but who knows.
Also with fireblast in your bar already it gives you plenty of options for insta dmg..
It's nice that with this arcane gets a more mobile dmg dealing spell.
Overall as Arcane it's not bad not too bad at all, a new insta nuke , possibilty of a free cast and a bigger focus on spirit. Bigger range on arc nukes.
Naturally arc mages will have to work for their hit in wotlk.
One gripe i have is giving us a wank spell like invisibilty then making us spend talent points on it to actually make it useful. i.e dont make it so shite that it has to be improved with talent points in the first place.
Thats me done with Arcane, Next up will be Fire,Frost, A Dps Increase? and Raid synergy but for the moment my fingers are bleeding
