Now, we're all aware of the fact that proffs like BS, LW, enchanting and JC can boost your gear a bit when you first hit the top-lvl in an expansion.
My previous proff was BS for TBC, which gave me three nice offhands which had a higher dps aswell as better stats than my mainhand for long, it wasn't extremly hard to get, except the last one that you needed mats from ssc/TK for.

Anyways, LW also has BoP items which you can learn from trainers and recepies which are buyable when it comes to high-end instances

You also get drums which is a good advantage, there will now also be a hit rating drums, the stats I can't really remember but the only bad thing about em is that you get the debuff " Tinnitus" which disables you to benefit from any drum-effects for the next two minutes, a nerf in other words.

Enchanting in wotlk gives you ring enchants, and you also get a bit of a cashflow if you do not use all the mats from dissed items yourself
The advantage with enchanting is that you wont get anything better enchanting wise for rings, if nothing new is introduced, whilst you replace gear and weapons that you get from LW and BS.

JC has the nice boost that you get BoP gems with increased stats, though they're unique they still do some good.

from the sites that I've eyed through I haven't seen any new good recepies for any of these proffs, which might not be strange as wotlk is far from finished,

The reason I put up this thread was so that the rogues in Battlestar could get some advices from others about which proff they should reroll/start getting mats for before wotlk begins.

Any helping advice is much appreciated :)

Gonna see how this plays out.. LW *IS* drums at the mo. they had better come out with some UBARR patterns, or the +40sta buff form skinning looks a bettr choice >.<

If you looked at my post Gathering professions also get buffed.

So if you Skinning/leatherworking you get the BoP patterns etc...but also Free Crit ftw

true, but the top rank you get is 25 crit rating, and at lvl 80 that is like tops 0,5% so it's not a huge buff you get \:

LW will also get BoP leggpatches with 30 atp and 18 crit rating more stats than the boe, which is nice, and the mats req is 1/3 of the boe ones. pretty nice imo

might, the thing is if I get abetter mainhand sword I'll switch back to swords, and I'm not sure that I can use my blazefury if I am no longer a blacksmith as it requires that you're amaster swordsmith :(

seriously, this mace is the only crafted mainhand I've found and it's on 88dps or something like that, is it just me or have they done a terribad misstake

hrm...not overly sure but I'd say that mace is rather nice for tanking...as a paladin a lot of my threat abilities will use ap in wotlk, meh, it's slow though.

thing is, that there are blues lvl 77ish craftable maces and swords with 100+ dps..
so it must be a misstake, wonder how the dps on this will look like when they've done it proper

120ish is still pretty low, as it's just a leap from 103 to 120 from what we have atm, hopefully they'll do as they did in tbc that they do two upgrades, sounds more reasonable as our onehanders have more dps than the twohanders in the original wow, so hopefully we'll have weapons higher than 136ish dps

at T7 lvl or just above maby but i think high blues / crafted epic wont be quite that high

my crafted offhand is 15ish dps higher than the common Epic none craftable, the first ones that drop in 5man instances. and those that are craftable but not bop, but it is true that this one isn't Bop either, so maybe it will become better.
but compare it with this, which is the two handed version

yeah 186 dps is a lot, and a lot more than the Highest dps axe-mace-sword that you can get now in tbc, and this Is boe aswell,
this is just me but i think something strange is going on and I can't wait for a sane explanation :P
