Affliction

Curse of Exhaustion range increased from 30 yards to 36 yards.
Haunt casting time reduced from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
Demonology

Demonic Empathy reworked: When you or your per is critically hit, the other has a 33/66/100 % chance to have their casting or attack speed increased by 30% for 8 sec. (Previously gave 2/4/6 % increased damage for the next 3 spells or abilities when you or your pet critically hit with a spell or ability
Metamorphosis cooldown increased from 3 minutes to 5 minutes. You transform into a Demon, with full health and mana. While in Demon Form, you gain Demonic abilities and your armor is increased to 360%, but your pet is no longer summoned. When leaving Demon Form, your health and mana is returned to normal and your pet is re-summoned. Lasts 45 seconds. (Previously transforms you into a Demon, increasing your armor by 360% and reducing the duration os stun and snare effects on you by 50%. While in Demon Form, you cannot cast spells, but you gain unique demon abilities.)
Destruction

Bane no longer reduces casting time of Haunt.
Eternal Flames reworked: Now called Fire and Brimstone. Increases the damage of your Immolate spell by an amount equal to 5% of your spell power, and the critical strike chance of your Conflagrate spell is increased by 5% is the immolate on the target has 5 or fewer seconds remaining. (Previously increased the damage done by your immolate on your target by 1%, and your Searing Pain and Incinerate spells increase the damage of your Immolate on the target by and additional 1/2/3/4/5 %, up to a total of 20%.
Chaos Bolt cooldown reduces from 12 seconds to 8 seconds. Sends a bolt of Chaotic Fire at the enemy, dealing 1012 to 1278 Fire damage. Chaos Bolt cannot be resisted, and pierces through defensive immunities. (Previously sends a bolt of chaotic fire at the enemy, dealing 990 to 1256 Fire damage. Chaos Bolt cannot be resisted, and pierces through all absorption effects.)
Some nice changes there. Chaos bolt cd reduced and now does more damage, Immolate and conflag damage increased also. Looks like fire is going to be the new shadow esepcially in conjunction with the new Mage talents. Time will tell ofc.

Above is my first pass at a Fire destro nuke spec. Damn it looks powerful. I am sure it could do with some tweaking but scanning through the talents I think Warlocks will get insane burst damage and when you add Cataclysm and improved Soul Leech Mana should not be an issue too along with the gains in spirit (who needs improved Life Tap). The future is bright, the future is Locky. Playing with Demo and afflic and one of the things I am happy with is that all of the specs look viable at least for the early raids. Not sure if one spec will shine through to end game currently like 0/21/40 does however my money is on fire destro or shadow destro (or possibly a clever combination of both. As usual I am guessing in raids the other classes such as spriests and mages will also determine what shines through.<SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/wow-com/includes-client/detection.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=VBScript>Dim hasPlayer, playerversionhasPlayer = falseplayerversion = 10Do While playerversion > 0On Error Resume NexthasPlayer = (IsObject(CreateObject("ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash." & playerversion)))If hasPlayer = true Then Exit Doplayerversion = playerversion - 1Loopis_FlashVersion = playerversionis_Flash = hasPlayer</SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/includes/variables.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/includes/functions.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/warlock/data.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/warlock/donotlocalize.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/includes/localize.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/includes/arraysFill.js"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT language=JavaScript src="/shared/global/talents/wrath/includes/printOutTop.js"></SCRIPT>

According to the patch notes

Chaos Bolt cannot be resisted, and pierces through defensive immunities.

so yes it WILL go through paladin bubbles mage iceblock ect ect

Well unless that changed they stated in a blue post it wouldn't. I wouldn't be unhappy if your right though just seems way overpowered if true

indeed: IWIN-warlock-style, although lorewise it's correct WC3 employed chaos damage which was not modified by amor type and could damage even demi-gods, like cenarius.

Guv I had exactly the same build in mind - except you put 1 point in Empowered Imp and that gets moved 1 place to the left - Shadowfury ftw. Think its a great talent is really miss it.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents2.html?tal=00000000000000000000000000002500 300030000000000000000055033005020051051335231051

Also thought about a Demonology Build - Going to miss Ruin and Destructive reach. Not sure how much I will enjoy it, certainly make things more interesting and I have very little experience with Felguard out. Demonic Pact could easily be buffing whole raid for 200+ spell dmg when pet crits.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents2.html?tal=00000000000000000000000000023510 301135010050313523105055003005000000000000000000

Also had a go at Assliction build - some pretty insane stuff here. 2 points in Improved Felhunter = 5% Intellect and Spirit buff for whole raid. I stuck a point in Amplify Curse(although in raids I'd probably have to cast CoR or CoW(since I have 2 point in Frailty) but could easily move that to Fel Domination - handy if pet gets gibbed. No Malediction unless I was to sacrifice Frailty and Amplify Curse - would depend on what gives biggest buff to raid.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents2.html?tal=03520020512235102551003135120500 301030000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Think Locks have done really well out of WotLK - obviously there will be changes and nerfs in next couple of months. They have really made pets(well Imp, Felhunter and Felguard) a real plus points for having 3 warlocks in a raid with 1 of each differing build.

Imp Imp = 173 Stamina for Whole raid.
Imp Felhunter = 5% Spirit and Intellect for Whole raid.
Felguard(Crit) = 250+ Spell Dmage for Whole Raid(for 12 sec).

henke: what about something like this

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/warlock/talents2.html?tal=00000000000000000000000000023510 301135010050313523105055003005000000000000000000#n one

which basically gives you all the key talents from demo (and 1/2 fel synergy might be enough to keep your pet alive except on aoe heavy fights) but you still get ruin and destructive reach.

Think you linked my build(I did same with Guv's before I edited my post).

Very true - I still need 1 point in Demonic Resilience(to make up points) and 1 in Fel Synergy to keep pet alive through my damage heals. And in AoE intense fights probably have to Sac pet anyway.

Revised...

Would you not go for mana feed over demonic resilience to let your pet do more damage? I'd say 5% less dmg taken won't save your pet in a lot of situations whereas mana feed would give him more cleaves, though not sure how much it really returns. And yeah, in aoe intensive fights you can sac your felguard for 10% fire/shadow dmg AND 2% mana per 4 which is not too shabby.

Lifetapping might be more useful if the potion nerf goes through in wotlk though.

Atm I really don't know...untli the Theorycrafters work out the whole Spriti/mana regen thing I'm at a loss - spirit for Locks just now is useless - that is going to change - how it effects mana regen is the question. The period between getting new talents and WotLK going live is the time for experimentation and also getting to know my Felguard - which I used for a couple of hours once.

95% sure I will lvl 70-80 using Felguard(even it if it slower than WTF SB, SB, shadowfury, CB) just to increase my experience of using it so I'm not a total nub with it at 80.

Think a lot of Locks will more or less have to relearn their class after the pretty much 1 button spamming of TBC.

TBH I do love shadowfury but for me its a pvp / arena / Grinding thing. I simply wouldnt use it enough in a raid situation to warrant spending the point. Will be good to have the option to play with it again and I am sure there will be certain boss / trash tactics that it would be nice to have for
